Yep, its officially winter. Its snowing and sticking. The weather service says it will turn to rain late tonight though than God. I Don"t get me wrong I like snow.... its pretty... but I don't want to drive in it or walk the dogs in it, so if it snows in the afternoon and then melts by morning, then im happy.. saw the snow, then the snow melted.
As for unruly resin horses! Im about ready to pull my hair out. I have been working on painting a AA jumper for 2 weeks now. I made a really cool special rock jump for him and decided to paint him a dapple grey. Well I did one side..and boy he looked so cool! then to the other side. I just could not get the other side to be the same color grey.. one was more a dark blue steel grey and the other was a warmer grey.. ?? now how did that happen? so after messing with it for another day I said ok.. you win.. and I stripped him.. but while stripping him I guess I was being a little too vigorous and I snapped off his front leg at the cannon bone.. dam! ok.so I fix that ..looks good , real stong fix.. more primer, more paint.. one coat of grey, do all the dapples. again... go to spray him and as I was holding him waiting for him to dry. the darn dog wants out.. NOW! ok.. so I go to let him out and decide Id better just take them all for a short walk, so I sit the horse down on the cup so he is only touching in 2 spots under his belly, and as I go to open the door..I bump the table and off he goes to the floor! NOOO!!! not again.. so I go to see the damage and IM cringing as I know its not gonna be good.. and yep.. his back leg is now broken, bit not off.. its cracked thru the center but didn't come off because of the wire and the inside of his joint bones chipped off.. so I find the part.. glue on .. glue the crack and hold worth pliers.. ok he is fixed..so more sanding and primer..ok not too much damage just to the back leg which I had not painted yet. , but hey the front break held! so thats something, so back to painting and priming.. k so now he is not wanting to be grey, I decided ot put a really light coat of a tan color just to add some punch and before I know it, he is a dapple buckskin looking color.. ok, so I go with it, he is really looking good and iM ready to do the legs and I spray one more coat of dull coat and Im holding him waiting for him to dry.... ok Im not gonna sit him on the cup ..I cant afford him to slide off again, so I get a piece of plastic and fell one side.. it feels dry so I lay him on it ad go off to take the dogs out again.. I come back and pick him up and theres creases all over the side he was laying in!! NOOOO!!! argghh . its like he just isnt to be! dam.. ok ..I sand lightly but thats not working for all of it so I decide to just remove some paint..so thats the point Im at now.. that and one coat of pastels... Im about ready ot pull my hair out. for as much work as I have put into the is darn horse Id have to sell him for $500.00!!! I doubt he will sell for that high.. so .sigh.. back to work. I have been really busy and have more pics to post tomorrow. now off to eat a late dinner...
