7 little ponies all in a row

Success! well...... kind of. I was able to cast a bunch of ponies over the weekend but I ran into a problem with the mold so the official release will be delayed a week at the most. When I made the mold I made it very similar to the waste mold, ( which turned out really good for waste mold!) but I did change a few things.. one was how I vented the legs. I put little wax sprues ( wax rods) on each hoof to vent off air so the feet don't end up hollow or full of air bubbles ( although I still may get a small on on a hoof tip now and then because I don't have a vacuum chamber to suck out all air bubbles)  And because I moved where the sprues ended up at form where they were on the other mold, (in this case one of them attached to the pour hole) It made a deeper undercut for the bent front leg. Because of that deeper undercut, getting the pony out of the mold is a pain in the butt.. I have to be very careful and kind of wiggle the back out while trying not to break that front leg and becuse of that the mold will eventually rip or tear there and I wont get as many casting from it as I planned.. SO... because of this  I took a better look at both molds and saw what I did wrong and decided to make a 2nd mold. I can still use the 1st one but wont cast many from it because of the breakage and tearing problem. I do have this new rubber glue that is made just for silicone rubber so I'll get to try it out!  So....I ordered more rubber and its on its way, so as soon as the new mold is done I will make an official announcement releasing the edition for sale. In the meantime if anyone still wants a pony for the discount pre release price I will still be honoring that.. so you still have time to get one cheaper. The only difference is the ones that are raw wont be quite as raw as I planned... because of the mold problem I will cut the sprues off and be fixing one other little problem.. the vent between the back leg and the tail I realized some may not realize its a vent and may think its part of the tail.. another ting Ill be fixing on the new mold.. so I'll be cutting that off and  will fill any air holes if it has any. I have gotten a few really small ones on the belly or the upper lip on one side and sometimes a tiny hole on the tip of a hoof.... I just want to make sure they are filled and fixed correctly so as to keep the quality of the sculpture with all the details intact. I will be shipping most if not all the 1st batch of orders tomorrow.
Because of all this prepping and having to do some yard work. and horse stuff I haven't had any time to work on the foal but I'll try and get some work done on him this week. He is very close to being done its just that he is so small I cant work on him for for very long before it gives me a sore neck and a headache! lol I cant wait for him to be done so I can paint him up.. he is so darn cute!
