Introducing cantankerous ponies!!!

Pony number one of my new  "Cantankerous Ponies" series is now available for order. "Gypsy" is her name and she is 2  3/4 inches tall and 3 1/4th inches long.
Her waste mold came out really well, so well in fact that If I just add two more vents to it I will be able to do the production mold and all her castings here. so.. I will be starting her mold tomorrow and she should be casting by sometime next week. Until then... Im taking orders for her and anyone who pays in full before I cast her gets a discount. She is ( until casting, then her price will go up) $68.00 each and $58.00 each for a raw castings. postage is included except for foreign orders in that case email me with where you are and how you want her shipped.. ( priority mail or 1st class) Also they must be paypal orders only.
To order paypal me at Becky@solticeart.com and in the subject heading write Gypsy order. make sure your address is included and correct.
Orders will be sipped in the order they are received with raw casting being sent faster since I don't have to clean them up.

Gypsy also has a new born foal who is almost done and hopefully will be ready for his waste mold in the next few weeks. He will only be around $35.00 each so watch for him! he also needs a name... ideas welcome! email them or post a comment... If I find a name I really like I will give you a free foal if you have purchased his mom!

More pictures will come after she is cast and I have set up my photo area.. these are the pictures of her for her production  mold.. she still needs a light sanding...

This is her waste mold.. it came out prefect..so Im either getting alot better at mold making or got really lucky! lol  the only problem I had was a few small air bubbles on the bottom or top lip, which I can fix by adding a vent from there to the shoulder  and I had a problem with her back hoof.. it wasn't casting. There were two problems with that.. one was it was next to the pour hole which I put on the bottom of the tail since it was a larger surface area and was flat.... than the belly and I hate using the belly.. and the belly area was so small.. and the resin wasn't getting to the hoof area because it is so high up... .so I fixed it by doing two things.
One is I cut a hole between the hoof and the tail you can see it in the last photo... and I start by pouring a small amount of resin in the mild and then turn it back and get it to go into the hoof, then I swish it around some and pour the rest of the resin in.. I have to do this all really fast because the resin cures in a few minuets! ..but after only 2 try's after I cut the hole... I got an almost prefect casting.. so I plan on adding in the vet to the production casting so it should work out really well. Every time I make a mold I learn something new.. mostly what not to do! lol anyways..
Cantankerous ponies! I plan a whole herd of them! not only a foal for Gypsy but I have a mare that she is scaring off off her new foal.. Im working on a little stallion right now and I plan on at least 3 foals, 2 yearlings and 4 mares.. and 2 stallions.. so it should be lots of fun!   Watch out here for any new news on the next pony in the series...

Yeah! finally a good mold and the original came out with very little damage..
Another view of the 2 pice mold... the long tube like bumps around it are keys.. Im finding that long keys like this work alot better than little half ball keys... they really lock it in there tight..  and very little flashing below ( where the resin leaks out around the sculpture) ..you can see it under the tummy some.. and at the behind the tail a little but thats it! yeah!!! I hate lots of flashing! lol
Hole cut next to the bottom of the tail to vent the foot...so resin will flow into it in 2 places and air bubble wont get stuck n the end....

Great job! The casting does look really smooth.

I love your idea of building a whole little "herd" of horses that tells a story :-)
