Glory edition closing and way overdue post!

I never know what to name my posts...lol others come up with clever names ..not me.. I guess in some ways " naming things" Im not that creative! anyway.... as the post name says, Glory my draft head in a collar frame medallion is almost played out.. I just cast a few and the mold is getting worn.. I don't have time to spend prepping them if they are missing parts or adding in lost details, so I'll be closing the edition on sunday.

If you want one or more you have to let me know by sunday and either pay in full or put a deposit and make arrangements to make payments, because after Sunday I will destroy the mold. He is $40.00 each or 2 for $60.00 Im not sure how many I can get out of it so after the 1st 5 I'll just take names and if I can get more out of it, it will be on a 1st come basis...

Ok now on to the last month and my silence or near so since then. On december 18th I had to have all my upper teeth pulled..and 2 bottoms.. yep not a fun thing to do and especially during the holidays! well... it went very well, I was knocked out they had no problems but then 3 days later I started to swell in front and really hurt.. I couldn't even touch the roof of my mouth with my tongue without pain! .. it was infected.. great.. so on that next wednesday I went back to the surgeon and he said yep. infected. so I was put on more pain pills and penicillin... and I felt very crappy and needless to say didn't get much work done. I didn't dare work on any clients work feeling that crappy and being on pain meds.. so I decided to start a new sculpture.. something I have been wanting to start and had the wireform armature sitting here for months waiting to get her started on so...I figured I was ok to at least flesh it out.. so I started a classic sized morgan mare.. she is standing but has 2 legs just coming up but are not quite off the ground yet.. I don't have photos of her yet.. but I plan to soon.. maybe sneak peeks... lol

Besides that I also have a few commissions on progress too. a remake for resins by randy which is finally coming along.. I was kind of stuck on the hindquarters but think I got it figured out.. also a arab remake for a client, Im also doing a quest artist pice for Michelle Platt on her mustang "Ask" and her small foal "Aart" Ask is being done in oils and IM not sure yet on the medium for Ask. Im also painting a Sommer Prosser Timepiece I sold to a client.. he is a black with only a small star for markings ..he is almost done.. just working on his details now..

Im also almost done with a remake of a stalemate size saddlebred for my best client Jean Davis. Im afraid I forgot the name of the original sculpting artist but I pretty much re-did most of him.. he has a longer body, new neck and I reworked his legs, and most parts of him.. including his head.. and ears.. Im painting him a dark chestnut pinto in pastels and acrylics.. he is close to being done too..


Oh I also did a remake of a micro mini.. It was from I think the arab..its now a dark smutty buckskin dapple morgan mare! I put her on an epoxy made base and thats mounted on that on a nice wood base I bought just for her. She has just been Sold to Jean Davis. Thank you again Jean!

Also soon I will have a new medallion out.. I had originally done it ( and its not quite done yet!) to be gifts at Christmas but didn't plan on getting so sick and getting so behind in my work on it so, I will still be giving out some belated gifts to some good friends when its done but I decided I will also sell a few too.. pics to come soon! as you can see I have alot going on.. and even more ideas in my head Id like to do! plus a few sales pieces I need to finish painting! and on top of that.. because of the economy I have decided to try a few other art type things to help bring in more income.. I dont have alot of time to do full size paintings so I decided to try my hand at aceo or atc cards. I have time to work on them in the evenings so I ordered some of the tablets yesterday and a few new pens and will be doing all kinds of mediums on them so look for them in the future if you like that kind of thing.. I plan on them being from the $10.00 to $20.00 each range and they will all be one of a kinds.. possibly later maybe a limited edition or two. I also have other plans for this new year but will talk about that as I come to it ..... plus I plan on trying on blog more often... so anyone interested in a glory medallion contact me at becky@solticeart.com
